Project Overview
Funded by the 2022 Parks Bond, John Chavis Memorial Park Phase 2 will feature a new aquatic center development for all ages with indoor and outdoor facilities for recreation, competition, and wellness opportunities with reconfigured new parking spaces. Phase 2 will also include upgrades to the Heritage Plaza, including additional historic interpretive displays.
The City Council has recently approved the Designer's Contract and design work will begin this Spring. Be on the look-out for events this Spring and Summer, where you will have the opportunity to share your ideas about programs and activities for Phase 2.
