Crisis Call Diversion Line

Licensed clinicians will be available to take certain mental-health related 911 calls

*Pilot launch expected early 2025

The City of Raleigh is contracting with an outside partner to implement a Crisis Call Diversion (CCD) Line within our Emergency Communications Department.

What is CCD?

When a resident calls 911 with a mental or behavioral health crisis, they may be diverted to a licensed clinician.

The clinician will provide over-the-phone support and de-escalation and connect the individual to the resources they need.

The programs initial hours will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday.

Callers who will be eligible for this service must not have a weapon, or be a danger to themselves or others. A person must also call themselves; the service is not available to someone acting on their behalf.
