Share your thoughts on new bikeway project

The City of Raleigh is committed to enhancing our bikeway network, and your input is crucial! As part of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Program, the S. State Street bikeway project is now moving into its final design phase. This step is the third in a four-step process aimed at improving biking infrastructure.

Why This Matters
The S. State Street bikeway, part of the 10-year Priority Project list from the 2016 BikeRaleigh Plan, will play a significant role in connecting various key areas:

  • Neighborhood Bikeways: Linking with proposed bikeways on Bragg Street, Peterson Street, and Dandridge Drive.

  • Community Connections: Serving as a vital route between the Biltmore Hills neighborhood, Walnut Creek Wetland Park and Trail, Fuller Elementary, and Carnage Middle School.

What’s Proposed
The updated design includes:

  • Maintained On-Street Parking: All existing parking spots on both sides of S. State Street between Bragg Street and Peterson Street will be preserved.

  • Bikeway Improvements: The proposal focuses on enhancing the bike lane design between Bragg Street and Peterson Street, as well as between Peterson Street and Bunche Drive.

We Need Your Feedback
