Spring Park Playground Renovation

Spring Park is a City of Raleigh neighborhood park, located at 1422 Collegeview Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27606. Improvements centered around a renovated playground for 2-5 and 5-12-year-olds, including new equipment, rubberized safety surfacing, and a graded slope. Other updates to the park included a new accessible park entrance and pathways connecting to the playground.

History

Spring Park is a mini park, located in a residential area near North Carolina State University. The park is 0.37 acres in size and has a large picnic shelter. In order to better serve the growing community in the area of Spring Park, Raleigh Parks began the process of updating and renovating the onsite playground in early 2022. An online community survey was completed in November – December 2022, to solicit community feedback regarding playground design preferences. The project was bid in February 2023. Construction is scheduled to start in mid-March 2023. Construction took place from March to November 2023.
