How to Rent a Bicycle
Prospective users can rent a Cardinal Bikeshare bike one of three ways:
- Use the Cardinal Bikeshare website;
- Download the Cardinal Bikeshare app; or,
- Access one of the 15 stations payment kiosks.
Future expansion of the system will include “virtual stations” that will allow a bike to be picked up and dropped off at custom locations for special events.
Where to Find a Bike
There are currently 31 Cardinal Bikeshare stations spread out around the downtown core and Hillsborough Street.
Cost
The price to ride ranges from $2 for single trips to a monthly pass at $20 and annual membership at $85.
Annual Plus Memberships are $95 and include unlimited 60-minute rides.
About the Bikes
Every Cardinal Bikeshare bike comes with:
- a bell;
- a basket;
- an adjustable seat;
- front and rear lights which automatically light up when you begin to pedal; and,
- a dashboard that allows you to track distance, speed and riding time.
Two-thirds of the fleet is electric-assist bikes, which will help to make Raleigh’s hilly terrain easier to navigate.
