Raleigh Parks is leasing Alvis Farm (3128 Tarheel Clubhouse Rd) to CORRAL, a nonprofit which provides a holistic program of equine therapy and education to adolescent girls in high-risk situations.
CORRAL collaborates with local, referral community partners who identify at-risk girls whom they pair with rescued horses in the 12-week Join the Herd program. Ideally, the Join the Herd girls matriculate into the long-term program, the Riding Academy, where they see real, transformational life change.
The Riding Academy incorporates academic support, individualized equine-assisted psychotherapy, family counseling, mentorship, vocational and life skills training, college and career preparation, and community support.
