As a proud Bee City USA member, the City of Raleigh Parks Department is excited to kick off a citywide Low-Mow Spring!
In our ongoing effort to support native wildflowers and provide vital pollinator habitat and early forage, we’re reducing spring mowing in many of our parks and preserves. With beneficial insect populations in decline, we take our role as stewards of Raleigh’s green spaces seriously.
This initiative not only conserves resources but also supports local wildlife and enhances the beauty of our parks in a more sustainable way. By allowing select areas of our parks to grow more naturally, we’re creating vibrant, environmentally friendly spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Come mid-April, as the blooms begin to fade, we’ll resume our mowing routine. Until then, enjoy a peaceful Low-Mow Spring, Raleigh — complete with the calming sounds of nature and a break from the hum of power equipment!
