From April 23 through April 26, Lake Wheeler Park will host an intercollegiate rowing event co-sponsored by UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke University women’s rowing programs.
Collegiate teams from, Boston College, Boston University, Bucknell, Clemson University, Columbia, Duke University, Georgetown University, Gonzaga, Jacksonville University, Kansas University, University of Louisville, University of Miami, US Naval Academy, Tulsa, Rhode Island, UVA, University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, and Washington State University are scheduled to compete.
The lake will be closed to public access starting Wednesday, April 23 but will reopen to public boating on Sunday, April 27. Only the rowing regatta event spectators will be provided access to the park where they will have to pay for parking.
