The City of Raleigh will conduct a public hearing on the Draft HOME-ARP Allocation Plan.
The City was awarded a one-time allocation of $5,248,760 of HOME-ARP funding, appropriated under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARP), from the U.S. Department of Housing Development (HUD) to assist individuals or households who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, and other vulnerable populations. The funding can be used to provide rental housing, tenant-based rental assistance, supportive services, and non-congregate shelter to reduce homelessness and increase housing stability.
In order to access these funds, the City must develop a HOME-ARP Allocation Plan, which describes how the City intends to use these funds. The City of Raleigh’s Draft HOME-ARP Allocation Plan is available for comment from August 9 – September 8, 2022. In addition, a public hearing on the draft plan is scheduled to be held on September 6 during the City Council meeting at 7:00 PM.
With City Council authorization at a later meeting, the Plan will be submitted to HUD as a substantial amendment to the FY 2021 Annual Action Plan for approval with a summary of public comments received.
The draft plan is available by e-mail, on the City's website, and at the Community and Small Business Development Division located at 421 Fayetteville Street, Suite 1200, Raleigh, NC 27601.
