New Council meets Dec. 6 in regular session at 1 p.m.
Members 0f the 2022-2024 Raleigh City Council Term were sworn into office at a ceremony Dec. 5 at Raleigh Union Station. Several hundred people were in attendance for the swearing in of what Mayor Mary-Ann Baldwin called the youngest, most diverse City Council in Raleigh history.
Here are the members of the 2022-2024 Raleigh City Council:
- Mary-Ann Baldwin - Mayor
- Jonathan Melton - City Council, At-Large
- Stormie Forte - City Council, At-Large
- Mary Black - City Council, District A
- Megan Patton - City Council, District B
- Corey Branch - City Council, District C
- Jane Harrison - City Council, District D
- Christina Jones - City Council, District E
The City of Raleigh Joint Color Guard performed the Presentation of Colors at the opening of the event, which was open to the public. The Honorable Judge Lucy Inman and The Honorable Judge Paul Ridgeway administered the oaths of office. Mayor Baldwin welcomed some special guests, including Canine Companions, service dogs in training; and Hamilton the Pig, who brings luck to the Carolina Hurricanes. After the formal program, guests were treated to music by The Veldt.
Their first regular City Council meeting is Dec. 6 at 1 p.m. and will be livestreamed on the City's website and YouTube channel.
