Raleigh’s New City Hall Gets a Foundation
As with anything in life, a strong foundation is critical for future success. The same holds true for a building.
So, you can only imagine the foundation needed for Raleigh’s new 17-story City Hall.
That’s why a steady stream of 180 concrete trucks could be seen moving along McDowell Street recently. Each truck carried 10 cubic yards of concrete. Do the math. That’s about 3,420 tons of concrete!
Crews spent nearly 20 hours pouring the concrete to create a 5-foot deep foundation.
That’s a lot of concrete, a lot of hours, and a lot of hard work. But, a solid foundation is absolutely necessary.
Next up: walls!
