Come join us for Saturday on South! On July 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the City will host a party on W. South Street between S. Dawson and S. McDowell streets.
In September, the Raleigh City Council will vote whether to permanently close a portion of South Street. The closure would allow Red Hat Amphitheater to be relocated south of Lenoir Street. The Raleigh Convention Center will expand into the space currently occupied by the amphitheater.
Saturday on South is a chance for members of the community to learn more about the plans and speak with City staff and other project partners about the proposed work.
The Saturday on South party will feature a cookout, bounce houses, live music, snow cones, and best of all...it's free and open to everyone. Members of the Raleigh Convention Center and Performing Arts Center complex will be on hand to answer questions. Additional staff from Transportation, Planning, and Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources departments will also be available to talk with people about the project.
