For the past two summers I have been a worker for the Raleigh Summer Youth Employee Program. I loved this job program because I was able to gain so much knowledge and experience within workforce that I would not be able to gain anywhere else. It provided me the opportunity to enhance my professionalism as well as building networking contacts throughout the city!

Zoe B., 2018-2019 Program Participant

Initially communication was not my strong suit but over the course of the internship I developed my skills and learned how to more effectively communicate and work in a group environment. During the program you are taught about different tools that you can use to leverage other teammates perspectives and opinions. These tools allow for better group work and for more people to be open.

I often doubt my ability to complete certain tasks and often second guess myself. This pathway has given me the confidence I need for myself.

Naisaun Wilkins, Virtual 2021 Program Participant

I've grown as a professional and a person through this program...I learned that any problem no matter how small or large can be addressed and solved through initiative, creative thinking, and an innovative mindset.
